Public Notice: The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has issued a Level 1 Drought Declaration for our region
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has issued a Level 1 Drought Declaration for our region. In accordance with this declaration, the Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority is required to notify customers and encourage immediate water conservation measures. This declaration applies broadly across the affected region and is not limited to Coweta County. As such, all customers are asked to be mindful of their water usage.
Outdoor watering for lawns and landscapes remains permitted daily; however, it is restricted to the hours before 10:00 a.m. and after 4:00 p.m. Outdoor watering between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. is not allowed. While certain uses are not restricted, we strongly encourage all customers to use water efficiently both indoors and outdoors.
Simple conservation steps—such as repairing leaks, running full loads in dishwashers and washing machines, turning off the tap when not in use, and watering plants only when necessary—can collectively have a meaningful impact.
For complete details regarding outdoor water use requirements, please visit: http://epd.georgia.gov/outdoor-water-use-information. We appreciate your cooperation and attention to this matter. If you have questions regarding this update or need guidance, please contact our office at 770-254-3710.
